Eduardo Levy-Yeyati appointed Managing Director and Chief Economic Advisor

New York, NY – ACGM announced today the appointment of Eduardo Levy-Yeyati, as Managing Director and the firm’s Chief Economic Advisor. Mr. Levy-Yeyati’s hire reflects ACGM’s continued commitment to deliver thought leadership and depth of insight to its institutional clients around the world. 

Mr. Levy-Yeyati is a leading authority on emerging markets, particularly within the field of emerging markets banking and finance. He is Founder and Director at Elypsis S.R.L., Argentina´s top macro-finance research firm and previously served as the Head of Emerging Markets Strategy and Head of Latin American Research at Barclays Capital.

In addition to his financial industry experience, Mr. Levy-Yeyati has held numerous high profile policy and academic positions, including a term as Chief Economist at the Central Bank of Argentina and most recently as a Senior Fellow at The Brookings Institution.

Over the course of his academic and professional careers, which have spanned over 20 years, Mr. Levy-Yeyati has advised numerous governments, central banks, corporations, and NGOs on economics and strategy. He has held positions at the World Bank, CIPPEC (Center for Public Policy Implementation), the Inter-American Development Bank, the IMF, and the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics. For over 20 years Mr. Levy-Yeyati has been Professor of Economics and Finance at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella and is currently also a Professor at Universidad de Buenos Aires and Harvard´s Kennedy School of Government. 

Mr. Levy-Yeyati’s prolific academic research and writing is ranked first among Argentine economists according to the online academic database RePEc, and has been widely published in academic journals and newspapers. He has held numerous distinguished positions within his field.
